7 Tips To Win Over Fiverr Buyers

Fiverr Sellers have their work cut out for them. Before you can show off your skills and expertise, you’ve first got to catch the eyes of Buyers. Standing out isn’t always easy, especially with more than 880,000 Sellers offering services just like yours. What can you do to stand out? I went straight to the source to find out. Here’s how to win over Fiverr Buyers, according to 7 real Fiverr users.

Top highlights:

Provide Relevant Reviews About Previous Work

I look at reviews, but more specifically, I make sure the reviews are relevant to the service being offered. If I'm looking for someone to fix up my WordPress site, they don't need perfect English. But if I'm looking for a job that requires extensive back-and-forth communication, they need to have good English. And they all need reviews that show they got the job done and were professional and showed integrity. I always look at 2- through 4-star reviews. What kept them from being a 1-star or 5-star? Did they disappear, break something, lie, flake, ghost? And if they have a bad review, is it a one-off from a difficult client with unrealistic expectations, or is it a trend? After reviewing those, I'll decide who to engage and eventually hire.

Give Quick and Smart Responses to Queries

I always start off any new engagement with Fiverr Sellers by sending them a message to check on how they would tailor their services to my business' needs, or request samples that are closely related to us. If a Seller replies within a few hours with a response that's to the point - thereby ensuring they understand the overall brief quickly - I tend to take them up immediately. While not 100% foolproof, this process has helped me get better quality deliverables on Fiverr most of the time.

Know Your Worth as a Seller

Like many business owners, I am willing to pay a higher price for a higher quality product or service. When I see a freelancer who under-charges, that’s a red flag to me. When hiring freelance help, my goal is to pay a fair price to someone who can get the project right the first time.

Prove Quality of Work

I’ve found trial runs to gauge the quality of a seller’s work to be very effective. Before requesting a big project, I’ll frequently test the capabilities of 2-3 sellers before commissioning one of them for the big bucks. This way, I’ll have a better chance to get the bigger projects running without unwanted surprises. Trial runs also buy me time to analyze other important qualities, such as a seller’s time management, promptness, ability to understand and adapt, and personality.

Be Unique

We look for the same things in both Fiverr sellers and the talent that we represent – someone who stands out. Since I was looking for some marketing help, hiring someone who knew how to be seen in a crowd was important because I want the same for our streamers, and the company. Being able to be unique enough to stand out amongst millions online is a rare skill that is very valuable. Finding people with this ability and fostering it built this business, and keeps it growing.

Provide Convincing Responses Compared to Others

One very helpful aspect of Fiverr is that it allows Buyers and Sellers to message each other before an order is placed. I’m typically not so quick to hit that Order button, even if I’ve found the right gig that matches my requirements. I always contact the Seller and briefly describe what I’m looking for. This gives me the opportunity to learn a bit about them and compare their reply to other answers. Gathering a variety of answers helps me make a better decision when selecting the winning seller.

Ask Questions that Indicate Genuine Interest

When I'm looking for a Fiverr Seller, one of the biggest things I look for is whether they're asking me questions. I want to see that they care about what my project is really about and that they've read my description. If they haven't asked any questions, it's hard for me to trust that they'll be able to give me the quality I want. This also allows me to open a communication dialog with them to see how responsive they are to other questions I have. It’s a great way to narrow down your final 2-3 freelancers and not be overwhelmed by the 50+ applications to your project.
